For Financial analyst in New York at the developing stage. State multiplier: 1.23×; career-stage multiplier: 0.90×. These are illustrative planning assumptions, not measured state or seniority wages. The range endpoints and base/variable split are illustrative; changing it reallocates the midpoint rather than increasing total pay.

Useful for research, valuation, corporate finance, credit, and investment-analysis roles.

What can move the number.

The job

Seniority, scope, licenses, revenue responsibility, technical specialty, and required client relationships.

The pay plan

Base salary, guaranteed draws, discretionary bonuses, production payouts, deferred compensation, and equity are not interchangeable.

Method & sources

A benchmark for questions—not a promised offer.

How it is modeled

Role ranges begin with May 2025 BLS national occupational wage benchmarks. Wall St Insider applies a transparent geographic index and experience-stage factor for comparison. Those state and stage results are modeled estimates, not official BLS state observations.

Important coverage limits

OEWS excludes self-employed workers. BLS wages may include commissions and production bonuses, but exclude some nonproduction bonuses. Private equity carry, founder equity, partnership distributions, and unusually large deal bonuses are outside this estimator.
